Richard P. Browning

Richard Paul Browning, 74, of Geneseo, passed away on February 24, 2025, at Genesis East-Davenport, IA. Cremation rites have been accorded through Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Geneseo Chapel. Graveside services will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers memorials can be left to the Geneseo Humane Society or Geneseo VFW. Richard was born on May 2, 1950, in Moline, IL, the son of Kenneth and Gwendlyn (Klug) Browning. He served as a rifleman in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1968-1971. He married Diane Ross on December 6, 2001, and she survives. Richard was a member of the Geneseo VFW and American Legion. He loved to go on walks and spending time with his dog “Gracie” and foster cat “Stella”. His loving wife Diane took care of him as long as she was able.

Those left to cherish his memory are loving and caretaking wife, Diane Browning of Geneseo, his children, Diane’s loving family, brother, Ronald Browing and his dog “Gracie” and cat “Stella”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Gwendlyn Browning and brother Robert Browning.
