Richard "Dick" L. Printy

Richard “Dick” Lee Printy, 84, of Geneseo, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, IL.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo.  Reverend Stephen Mueller will officiate.  Burial will follow at The National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service at the church.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Richard Printy Memorial Fund.

Dick was born September 22, 1938.  He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Roy and Erna Haswell, in Barstow, IL.  He graduated from United Township High School, East Moline, IL, class of 1956.  He went on to earn a business associate degree from Black Hawk College.  He proudly served in the United States Army.  Dick was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal in Headquarters Command for thirty years and then later at Red Stone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL, retiring in 1996 as Director of Logistics Data.  He enjoyed golfing, doing yardwork, and especially his clean cars.  He coached his son in baseball and daughter in softball.  Dick was an avid Illini and Chicago Bears fan.  He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church for over forty years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Barbara Printy of Geneseo; children, Pilar (Christopher) Norenberg of Amery, WI, and Tim Printy of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Tristan Printy, Daegan Printy, and Ean Norenberg; siblings, Sallie Dodd, Marcia Yohe, Anna Marie Mullen, Mary Newberry, and Jerry Wells.

Richard was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Roy and Erna Haswell.
