Richard “Rick” Glenn Quayle, 74, of Cambridge, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Allure of Geneseo. Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Valley View Golf Course Clubhouse, Cambridge, IL. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory - Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made payable to the Rick Quayle Memorial Fund and mailed to Courtney Gentry, 522 N. State Street, Geneseo, IL, 61254.
Rick was born April 8, 1950, the son of Ivan and Dorothy (McKenzie) Quayle, in Geneseo, IL. He graduated from JD Darnall High School, Geneseo, class of 1968. He married Toni Lambin on January 30, 1971, at a service held in Bishop Hill, IL. Rick was employed at Motion Industries in the sales department. His hobbies included golfing, bowling, taking tropical vacations, and caring for his beloved Cavachon, Sandy. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren. He was especially looking forward to meeting his first great grandson in January, but also to a round of golf in heaven with his first-born son, Maice, dad, Ivan, and friend, Jack.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Toni Lambin of Geneseo; daughter, Courtney (Jon) Gentry of Geneseo; daughter-in-law, Kelly Quayle; grandchildren, Maxx, Maelyn, Ella, and Lily; a great-grandson on the way; brother, Bruce (Donna) Quayle of Peoria, IL; and nephews, Matt (Kelli) Quayle of Peoria, IL, and Jake (Erica Paar) Quayle of Peoria, IL.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Dorothy Quayle; son, Maice Quayle; and nephew, Alex Williams.
