Ricky Lee Brandt

Ricky Lee Brandt, 66, lifelong resident of Mineral, IL passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 10:30 A.M. -11:30 A.M. at Vandemore Funeral Homes and Crematory – Atkinson Chapel. Pastor Terry Lancaster will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mineral-Gold Fire Department. 

Ricky “Rick” Lee Brandt was born on October 27, 1958, the son of Charles and Ida (Ballard) Brandt in Kewanee, IL. He was a member of the Annawan High School class or 1977.  Rick was employed at several local businesses throughout his lifetime, mostly in the farm service industry as a truck driver for Annawan Co-op/River Valley Cooperative & Nutrien Ag Services for many years. He served as a past Mineral Village Board Trustee, Mineral Cemetery Trustee, and Mineral-Gold Volunteer Fire Department Chief. After retiring Rick loved watching old western movies and classic 60’s TV shows in his spare time.

Surviving family members include his sister Susan Chapman (John) of Annawan, IL; brother-in-law Larry Sweeney of Lakeland, FL; sister-in-law Norma Brandt of Sheffield, IL; nephews Sean Sweeney in Texas, Darryl Sweeney in Florida; and 2 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces.   

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ida, brother, Curtis Brandt, and sister, Helen Sweeney.
