Robert was born in LaCrosse, WI, on December 21, 1942, the son of Robert Glass Sr. and Berneal (Jambois) Glass. His father’s work took the family down river to Cassville, WI, where he graduated from Cassville High School in 1961. On December 10, 1963, Robert began his long career at John Deere, which lead him further south to Moline, Il. This career would be put on hold temporarily when he was inducted into the U.S Army on August 12, 1964. During his service, he graduated from the US Army Artillery and Missile School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma as an Artillery Survey Specialist and was stationed in Germany with the 25th Field Artillery Regiment. He was transferred to the US Army Reserve on July 28, 1966, and continued serving in this role until he was honorably discharged on August 11, 1970, at the rank of Specialist 4th Class.  Following his active service, he returned to work at John Deere where he remained for more than 35 years until his retirement on October 1, 1999. He loved to drive classic cars and drove for dealerships after he retired. Robert enjoyed hanging out with friends, singing karaoke and watching baseball. He was a member of Geneseo First Methodist Church where he and Linda could be found on Saturday nights sitting in the back pew for worship.

Those left to cherish his memory are son, Robert (Amy) Glass III of Moline, IL, granddaughter, Lindsey Glass, sister, Judy (Gene) Lorenz of Rice Lake, WI, sister-in-law, Mary Glass of Potosi, WI, niece and nephews; Jeffery (Melanie) Glass, Daniel (Katie) Glass, Michael (Sara) Lorenz, Cynthia (Susan) Lorenz and Christopher (Michelle) Lorenz. Also, his good friend, Linda.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Berneal Glass, sister, Joann Glass, brother, Jeff Glass, and twin granddaughters, Meghan and Mallory Glass.

The family would like to especially thank Jody Lindstrom for all her loving care.
