Robert Lambin Obituary

Robert “Bob” “Buckwheat” Lambin, 71, of Geneseo, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Allure of Geneseo.  Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and no services are to be held.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert “Buckwheat” Lambin, was born May 8, 1953, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Edward and Donna (Hanmer) Lambin. Bob graduated from Geneseo High School in 1971. That same year, while working at Loren Service Station, he earned the nickname “Buckwheat”. Following his high school graduation, he attended Clock & Jewelry Repair School, a skillset that would become the cornerstone of his career. He joined his father at Lambin Jewelers, eventually purchasing the business in 1997 and running it until his retirement in 2021.

A lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club and the National Rifle Association, he was deeply committed to these organizations. His love for the outdoors was undeniable, reflected in his enjoyment of hunting, fishing, going shooting and camping. He especially enjoyed catfishing on the Rock River with his brother, Ron. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Geneseo.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Ky (Jamie) Lambin of Geneseo, Corey (Camy) Lambin of Hanna City, and Dusty (Alex) Lambin of Geneseo; grandchildren, Jaelyn, Brennan, Mayson, Carter, Cayne, Hunter, Brynlee, Lennox, and Kendall; siblings, Ron Lambin of Geneseo, Toni Quayle of Geneseo, and Kelli (Jim) Williams of Geneseo; several nieces and nephews and his dog “Stoney”.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Donna Lambin; nephews, Maice Quayle and Alex Williams; and lifelong best friends, Bob “Tiny” Shipman, Brian DeDecker, and Melanie DeSplinter.
