Robin Monaco, 65, of Geneseo, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Carle Health Pekin Hospital in Pekin, IL surrounded by her family. She was born September 5, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Doris (Gore) Schreiber.
To respect her end-of-life wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no funeral or memorial service. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. We ask that those who wish to honor her consider doing so in a way that is meaningful to them. Some suggestions include donating to the American Heart Association, planting a tree, flower, or plant in your home or garden, or volunteering at a local charity.
Robin had a humble, compassionate spirit and loved making others laugh with her colorful sense of humor. She enjoyed gardening, snuggling with her dogs, Rosie and Clara, walking in faith alongside the women in her Bible Study of over 20 years, attending musicals, thrifting and garage sale hunting, and visiting her dad in Michigan. Robin shared her compassion for others as a medical assistant until her retirement in January 2023. Above all else, she loved being a mom.
Robin is survived by her children, Melissa Dixon (Reggie) of Asheville, NC, Dan Monaco of Nashville, TN, and Jen Woolsey (Dan) of Geneseo, IL; grandsons Madden and Drew Woolsey; father, Robert Schreiber of Shelby Township, MI; sister, Carol Peila of Shelby Township, MI, and nieces, Alicia and Michelle and their families.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Doris Schreiber.
