Rosemary DeMay, 94, of Geneseo, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Hammond Henry Hospital – Long Term Care, Geneseo. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the chapel within St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery, Chicago, IL. Burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Rosemary DeMay Memorial Fund.
Rosemary was born December 25, 1929, the daughter of Frank and Agnes (Grigalunio) Barcus, in Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by both her loving husbands, Charles Lukas and Louis J. DeMay. Rosemary was an avid quilter and made a lot of baby blankets over the years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, and cooking.
Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Thomas (Cynthia) Lukas of Alsip, IL, and Joseph (Cheryl) Lukas of Orland Park, IL; grandchildren, Christopher, Trisha, David, Michael, and Katherine; and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Thomas, Allison, Matthew, Natalie, Arabella, Valerie, and Charlotte.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Agnes (Barcus); husbands, Louis DeMay and Charles Lukas; son, Gerald “Jerry” Lukas; sister, Ann Sinkiewicz; and brother, Bruno Barcus.
