Rosemary Klotz, 90, formerly of Geneseo, IL, passed away on February 9, 2025, at Seneca View Nursing Home, Montour Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Malachy Catholic Church on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:30 am, Father Daniel Gifford will celebrate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in New York. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Geneseo Food Pantry, 620 W. Main Street, Geneseo, IL, 61254, and Schuyler Hospital Foundation (in the memo line please put “in memory of Rosemary Klotz Seneca View”), 220 Steuben Street, Montour Falls, NY, 14865, where she resided for the last 7 years.
Rosemary was born on January 27, 1935. She was the daughter of Christian Diel and Agnes Schulte. On October 8, 1955, she married Casper “Casey” Klotz at a service held in St. Louis, MO. She was a beloved wife and mother, raising 6 children. She enjoyed puzzle books, knitting, ironing for wine, typing, and especially - traveling with her devoted husband. She volunteered for the Geneseo Food Pantry for 13 years.
Survivors include sons, Bill (Ruth) Klotz of Geneseo, IL, and Chris Klotz of Massillon, OH; daughter, Susan (Jim) Morris of Himrod, NY; daughter-in-law, Theresa Klotz of Geneseo; grandchildren, William (Susannah) Klotz of Grafton, WI, Katherine (Stan) Klotz Ng of Virginia Beach, VA, Holly (Tom) Daly of Syracuse, NY, Matt (Laura) Morris of Philadelphia, PA, Heather Morris of Syracuse, NY, and Ashli (David) Rupe of Downers Grove, IL; and five great-grandchildren Henry Rupe, Madelyn Rose Rupe, Grayson Klotz Ng, Lila Morris, and Kinsley Rose Klotz Ng.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Agnes Diel; loving husband, Casey; sons, Steve and David Klotz; daughter, Mary Klotz; and brother Tom Diel.
