Rudy Rexroth

Rudy R. Rexroth, 68, of Geneseo, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at his residence, surrounded by family.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  A private memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory - Geneseo Chapel.  Reverend Matt Kampath will officiate.  A public visitation will be held from 10:00 am - noon at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the Rudy Rexroth Memorial Fund.

Rudy was born September 23, 1951, the son of Paul and Nora (Hingst) Rexroth, in Moline, IL.  He graduated from Moline High School and attended Black Hawk College.  On June 22, 1972, he married Peggy A. Collins, in a ceremony held in Rock Island.  Rudy was employed by International Harvestor Works as a welder, retiring after 30 years of service.  He then pursued additional work interests, later retiring from Forward Air in 2013.  He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Geneseo.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, especially at River of Lakes in Bagley, WI.  Rudy was known for his unique ability to make friends wherever he went.  He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Peggy; son, Craig (Michelle) Rexroth, Geneseo; daughters, Margie (Don) Calderon – Williams, Geneseo, and Chris (Brian) Spindel, Geneseo; and seven grandchildren, Mazie, Sofia, Bailey, Sidney, Charley, Calvin, and Brynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nora.
