Russell was born March 1, 1967, in Canton, IL the son of Jinne Marshall of Atkinson, IL and the late Gilbert Marshall of Canton, IL. He graduated from Canton High School, class of 1985, and Black Hawk College East Campus in Kewanee, IL. Russell worked as the general sales manager at Ed Morse Ford North (Formerly Crowe Ford Sales) in Geneseo, IL. He had worked in the automotive industry for over 30 years.

Russell married Jodi Wirth in Kauai, Hawaii, on April 23, 2008. He leaves behind a daughter Mia Marshall (11) who was the greatest joy and blessing of his life. His family meant the world to him, and he took great pride in being the oldest sibling in his family. He was known as “Unkie Russ” to many of his family and friends. Russell was a hard worker and was a wonderful provider for his family. He had the biggest heart and was always so very kind to others. He loved animals and agriculture after growing up on a family farm. His favorite thing to do was to cook, bake, and grocery shop for his family. He especially loved making his weekly Fareway and Costco shopping trips. Russell always looked forward to his yearly trip to Michigan, and playing in the sand with his daughter Mia. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, “unkie”, and son.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife and daughter Jodi & Mia Marshall. Mother, Jinne Marshall of Atkinson, IL.
