Scott Alan McNalley

Scott McNalley, 57, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Homewood Evangelical Free Church in Moline, IL. A time of fellowship and a luncheon will follow the service for those in attendance.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Homewood Evangelical Free Church.

Scott Alan McNalley was born on February 12, 1966, the son of Robert and Mary (Munger) McNalley. He attended United Township Highschool, graduating in 1984. Scott married JoMarie Gallagher on October 29, 1988, at St Malachy Catholic Church in Geneseo, IL. He worked as a custodian at Geneseo High School since 2017. He was a certified chef and restaurant manager starting his career in 1983. Scott loved to cook. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time, and he enjoyed collecting coins and model cars. He loved watching movies with his family and had found a new interest and hobby in bee keeping.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, JoMarie, Sheffield, IL; son, Samuel McNalley of Los Angeles CA; daughter, Carmella McNalley (Logan McMullen) Of Rockford, IL; and son, Joseph “Joey” McNalley of Sheffield, IL brother, Stevan McNalley of East Molines, IL; sister Suzan (David) Schrock of Milan, IL; father-in-law, Joseph Gallagher of Geneseo, IL; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary McNalley, mother-in-law, Rosara Gallagher, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
