Stephen W. Andrews

Stephen W. Andrews, 80, of Geneseo, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024, in Geneseo, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded and a private graveside inurnment will be held for the family at Oakwood Cemetery.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel will be assisting the family.  Memorials may be directed to the Aisle of Flags (geneseoaof@gmail.com) and Henry County Humane Society – Geneseo, 14606 Roos Hill Road, Geneseo, IL, 61254.  

Born on October 2, 1943, the son of Benjamin and Ione (Stephens) Andrews, in Geneseo, IL.  Stephen's life was further enriched by his loving partner of 17 years, Jon Carley, and the adoration of several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, who all held a special place in his heart.  Professionally, Stephen blossomed in the world of floristry. His career began at Flowers by Steve in Cambridge and extended to several other floral shops in the Quad Cities before he retired from Julie's Artistic Rose, Moline, IL.  Beyond his professional life, Stephen dedicated fifty years to the Cambridge Masonic Lodge, the Iowa-Illinois Florist Association, and the Scott County Gold Coast Historical Society board.  He found joy in designing for the Festival of Trees, several arenas, people's homes for the holidays, going antiquing and throwing holiday parties at his home.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving partner, Jon Carley; siblings, Pam (Pat) Ristau, Sara (Larry) Dillender, Ronald (Gail) Andrews, and Glenna Wyffels; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Ione Andrews; and brother-in-law, Tom Wyffels.
