Steven L. Marolf, 61, of Geneseo, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at his home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020, in Baldwin, Georgia. Burial will be at Alto Congregational Wholeness Church Cemetery, Alto, GA. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Steven Marolf Memorial Fund.
Steve was born December 25, 1958, the son of Fred Fortenberry and Betty (Dyer) Marolf, in Georgia. He attended Moline High School. On September 25, 1982, he married Teresa L. Feltner, in East Moline, IL. She preceded him in death on October 12, 2019. Steve was a self-employed carpenter. He was a self-taught jack of all trades. If you wanted something, he could build it. He enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, and mushroom hunting. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Tarahka (Patrick) Juchcinski, Tristi (Brady) Stromquist, and Taelynn Marolf; son, Riley Marolf; nine grandchildren; mother, Betty Marolf; sisters, Freda (Danny) Lusk, and Vicki Fortenberry; brothers, Daniel Marolf, Rusty (Jennifer) Fortenberry, Roy (Shelli) Fortenberry, and John (Melanie) Fortenberry.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, Fred Fortenberry; his father, William Marolf; and his beloved wife, Teresa Marolf.
