Steven "Steve" Pratt Obituary

Steven “Steve” Curtis Pratt, 66, of Cambridge, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16th, 2025 at his home with his son, Eric, at his side.  Cremation rites have been accorded.   Memorials may be made to the family at P. O. Box 89, Andover, IL 61233. Memorials will be donated to a local charity.

Steve was born on November 24th, 1958, in Moline, IL, the son of Richard and Wilma (Hayes) Pratt.  He was a graduate of J.D. Darnall Senior High School, Geneseo, IL.

Steve was a simple guy.  He was an electrician, by trade, and had worked for Timberlyn Electric and Diericx Electric in Geneseo.  He was also called upon many times over the years to help with many electrical projects for family, friends, and farmers.  He also worked for Deines-Nitz Solutions in Hillsdale.  Later, he worked for area farmers doing whatever needed to be done on a tractor.

His happy place was the family lake in Joslin.  In his younger years, you could find him there fishing and camping.  Later in his life, you could find him there sitting at a picnic table, sipping on a beverage and just taking in the beauty of the land that had belonged to his grandparents.  His pride and joy were his grandchildren.  He loved them with all his heart.

Steve is survived by his son Eric (Allie) Pratt, Andover, IL, daughter, Tonya Cutkomp, East Moline, IL; son, Zack Gradert;  four grandchildren, Chase, Emma, Owen, and Conner; siblings Beth Schwager, Long Grove, IA, Gail (Steve) Evans, Cambridge, IL, Joe (Janet) Pratt, Geneseo, IL, Val Edge, Plum City, WI, and sister-in-law Mary Pratt, Geneseo, IL, Aunt and Uncle Mary and Jerry Jackson, Port Byron, IL and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mike and Danny, brother-in-law Doug Schwager, brother-in-law Glen Edge, and nephew Brett Martin.
