Sue Ann Floreani, 71, of Atkinson, IL passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Atkinson, IL. Reverend S. Stephen Engelbrecht will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Atkinson, IL. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 4 P.M. – 7 P.M. at Vandemore Funeral Home – Atkinson Chapel. A recitation of the rosary will be held before the visitation at 3:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anthony's Catholic Church or the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry.

Sue was born on July 25, 1954, the daughter of Vincent and Marian (Lievens) Causemaker. Sue married Larry Floreani on August 18, 1984. For many years, Sue worked as a chairside dental assistant for multiple practices. She was also a medical assistant for a variety of positions, including walk-in clinics, women’s health, inpatient psychiatric, and home health care through the Henry County Health Department. Sue was very active in her community. She was a proud member of St. Anthony's Choir, the Prayer Chain, and the Altar and Rosary. She was also a volunteer and board member at the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry. Sue was always willing to help clean the church or tend to the garden.

In her free time, Sue loved the outdoors- biking, boating, hiking, and kayaking. She also loved riding in her convertible. She enjoyed singing in the choir at church and traveling. Sue loved to garden and was always willing to share her expertise with others. She made it a point to attend as many of her granddaughters’ sporting events as she could. Sue was no stranger to a good time and loved spending time with her friends and family. People felt loved by her, and loved her all the more because of it. Sue was truly an unforgettable person.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Larry Floreani; son, Lucas (Amanda) DeGrave; daughter, Sara Floreani (Quinn Campbell); sister, Ellen (Robert) Nelson; and grandchildren, Claire and Aubrey DeGrave.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Marian Causemaker.
