Tammy S. Johnson, 66, of Cambridge, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Cremation rites are being accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Valley View Club, 9701 IL – 82, Cambridge, IL, 61238. Vandemore Funeral Home – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family.
Tammy was born on December 1, 1959, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Jim and Joy (Proksch) Anderson. She graduated from Rock Island High School with the class of 1977. She began her career at Menasha Packaging in Milan, Illinois, where she worked as Operations Manager from 1977 until her retirement in 2017. Following retirement, she managed JT’s Alpha Inn.
Tammy found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved mushroom hunting, golfing, camping, and spending time with “the Nutty Crew” riding side by sides. She was an excellent cook and cherished every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were her greatest source of happiness. Known for her warm and friendly personality, Tam Tam made friends everywhere she went. To know her was to love her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Justin “Bubba (Marissa) Johnson, Amanda (Jacob) Miller, Jake (Allison) Blade, Elizabeth Maturure; grandchildren, Mariah, Austin (Ava), Gianna, Ellie, Addy, Olen, Jason, Emma; and brother, Tim Anderson.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Joy Anderson; her significant other, Jon Blade; and brother, Steve Anderson.
