Terry Taylor

Terry Taylor, 68, of Andover, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, IA.

Cremation rites have been accorded per Terry’s wishes. The family will greet friends at a Memorial Visitation Celebration of Life at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory – Geneseo Chapel on June 9th from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Terry was born on July 12, 1954, in Aledo, IL, son of Kenneth L. and Dorothy Taylor.

He was a graduate of Aledo High School and Western Illinois University. Terry was employed as a juvenile probation officer (later promoted to Supervisor) for the Henry County Illinois Court Services Department from 1981 until 2012 when he retired. Prior to that, he worked as a counselor at the Annie Wittenmyer Youth Center in Davenport, Iowa.

Terry was united in marriage to Deborah Anderson on July 12, 2013. She survives.

In earlier years, Terry enjoyed camping in the Florida Keys, riding his 750 Norton Commando, boating, golfing, and attending rock concerts. He also spent a few summers as a counselor at a youth camp in Colorado.

Survivors (and spouses) include his three brothers; Peter Mason of Bonita Springs, FL; John (Sherrie) Taylor of Grafton, IL; Dale (Lisa) Taylor of Keithsburg, IL; five nephews, Scott, David, Travis, Brian, and Brett; two nieces, Wendy and Alissa and several great nieces and nephews. His parents and one niece, Lindsay Taylor, precede him in death.

Memorials in Terry’s honor can be made to the Henry County Humane Society, Geneseo Chapter, Make a Wish Foundation, or the Siteman Cancer Center, St Louis, MO
