Thomas F. “Wishbone” Wisniewski, 73, of Kewanee, IL, passed away on May 10, 2024, peacefully at his home. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a graveside service held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Rock Island National Cemetery. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Geneseo Chapel are in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Tom was born on December 16, 1950, in Kewanee, IL, the son of Francis and Stephanie (Grygiel) Wisniewski. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam as a mechanic. Tom returned home and started working as a machinist at Hyster and later Compaction America where he retired after 40 years. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking, tinkering in his garage and working on cars.
Those left to cherish his memory are sons, Thomas and Brian Wisniewski of Kewanee, sisters, Pat (Tom) Wiley and Emily McDowell, grandchildren, Thomas and Kelsey Wisniewski and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Stephanie Wisniewski and sister, Theresa Skovronski.
