Venita Pritchard Obituary

Venita R. Pritchard, 86, of Geneseo, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Allure of Geneseo, IL.  A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, at First Baptist Church – Geneseo.  Reverend David Murphy will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  The funeral service will be livestreamed on Vandemore Funeral Home's Facebook page.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, Aisle of Flags, Annawan-Alba Women’s Club, and Annawan-Alba Fire & Rescue Squad.

 

Venita was born on July 3, 1937, the daughter of Grant and Ruth (Douglas) Wolf, in Geneseo, IL.  She graduated from Geneseo High School, class of 1954.  On September 12, 1954, Venita married Harold Robert Pritchard at Atkinson Congregational Church, Atkinson, IL.  He preceded her in death on April 28, 2011.  She was employed at Williams Grocery Store in Annawan for over 20 years and as a Pampered Chef Advanced Director.  She was a member Annawan/Alba Women’s Club, Chapter 410, and First Baptist Church.  Venita enjoyed baking and cooking, but especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.  Venita was very proud of Wolf Road being named after her grandfather; it was a wonderful tribute to the family legacy.  Venita will be remembered for loving life and the joy she took in talking to everyone.

 

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Robbi (Terry) Pritchard of Aurora, SD, Joddi Pritchard of Harrington, DE, Lauri Pritchard of Geneseo, IL, J. Harli (Trish) of Atkinson, IL, and unadopted son, Joe Heubi; grandchildren, Cheyanne Pritchard (Shawn) , Calli Williams (Tate), Zachary Saigh, Grant Pritchard, and Noah Pritchard; great-grandchildren, Harbor Landry, Axel Landry, Jack Williams, and Tommy Williams; and sisters-in-law, Verda Wolf of Geneseo and Sharon Pritchard of Annawan, IL.

 

Venita was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Ruth Wolf; husband, Harold Pritchard; son, Lonni J Pritchard; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Pritchard; granddaughter, Trisha Leah Pritchard; brother, Bill Wolf; brother-in-law, Hugh Pritchard; sister-in-law, JoAnn Pritchard; mother-in-law, Peggy Pritchard; and father-in-law, Albert Pritchard.
