Vicki Jean Carrington, 71, of Atkinson, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at her home. Cremation rites have been requested and a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Atkinson Chapel. Reverend Terry Lancaster will officiate. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 28105-9959.
Vicki was born August 5, 1952 the daughter of Donald and Shirley (Taets) Enyeart, in Geneseo. She was the first of seven children. She graduated from Atkinson High School, class of 1970. She received a Bachelor’s in Applied Management Technology and a Master’s in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University. She received a Master of Science in Contract Management from the Naval post graduate school in Monterey, CA. She was employed as a Contract Specialist Officer for the Department of the Army at the Rock Island Arsenal. On April 25, 2009 she married Gary Carrington in a service held at Chapel on the Hill, Geneseo. Vicki was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Atkinson. She enjoyed raising dogs, horses, and even a few cows, quilting, and traveling. She loved spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Gary Carrington of Atkinson; son, Michael (Sharon) Werner of Campton Hills, IL; stepchildren, Mike (Stephanie) Van Herzeele of Crystal Lake, IL, Michelle Van Herzeele of Atkinson, Sheri (Dwayne) Shaw of Annawan, Crystal Carrington of Annawan, Tonya (Jeff) Brown of Annawan, and Jennifer (Charlie) Harker of Mineral, IL; brothers, Tom (Vicky) Enyeart of Atkinson, Jerry (Darcy) Enyeart of Atkinson, and Larry (Teresea) Enyeart of North Fort Myers, FL; sisters, Conni (Steve) Bristol of Geneseo, and Kay (Ed) McCoy of Anchorage, AK; sister-in-law, Cynthia Enyeart of Erie, IL; numerous beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Enyeart and Shirley Nelson; and brother, John Enyeart, Sr.
