Walter LeRoy Klundt

Walter LeRoy Klundt, 86, of Geneseo, IL, passed away on August 11, 2025, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory - Geneseo Chapel.  A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Walter’s family.

Walter Klundt was born on May 3, 1939, in Gregory, South Dakota, to Pete and Vera (Faatz) Klundt. He graduated from Orion High School in 1957. In 1958, he married Nadine Anthony, his devoted wife, who survives him. Walter worked as a skilled journeyman sheet metal worker for many years. Following his retirement, he and Nadine enjoyed traveling, especially back home from the west to visit their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Walter found great fulfillment in woodworking, crafting toys for his grandchildren, and assisting his family on their farms.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nadine Klundt; children, Terry Klundt of Nevada, Loree (Tim) Phlypo of Geneseo, Todd Klundt of Arizona, and Anthony Klundt of Washington; brothers, Edward Klundt and Melvin (Margo) Klundt, sister-in-law, Ruth Klundt of Hillsdale; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Verna Klundt; sister, Elizabeth Klundt; and two brothers, Vic and Marvin Klundt.
