Warren E. Griffin, 85, of Geneseo, IL passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, peacefully at his home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 2:30 P.M. at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1 P.M. – 2:30 P.M. prior to the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Unity Point Hospice.
Warren E. Griffin was born on March 30, 1940, in Moline, IL to Warren and Jeanie (Windell) Griffin. Warren graduated from Moline High School in 1959. He got his first job at John Deere his senior year of high school. After graduation he started at Case IH as a painter for 32 years before he retired. After retirement Warren and Joanne opened Little Annies resturaunt in Geneseo. Warren always said he worked harder at the restaurant than he did at all his years at Case IH. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, collecting coins, and attending all of his grandkids’ sporting events. Warren loved to go camping and mowing his yard. He was a member of Local Union #1304, was a part of a bowling league for many years and coached many of his kids sports teams.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Joanne; children, Vicki (Evan) Lemenager of Argyle, WI, Mark Griffin of Harrisburg, PA, Mike Griffin of Geneseo, IL; siblings, Marcella Park of Moline, IL, Gary (Harriet) Griffin of Orion, IL, Russell (Tracy) Griffin of East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Samantha (Tim) Howard, Stephanie Williams, Michelle Williams, Allison Griffin, Sophia Griffin, Mitchell Griffin and Maddie Griffin; great grandchildren, Grayson, Parker, Walker and Crew Howard; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Jeanie; infant sister, Rita Griffin; and brother in law Duane Park.
