William Edward Marmion, 82, of Hughes Springs, Texas, passed away April 28, 2026. Visitation will be held at Vandemore Funeral Home – Geneseo Chapel on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 3 P.M. – 5 P.M. A prayer service will take place prior to the visitation at 2:30 P.M. Deacon Art Ries will officiate. A private family burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mendota at a later date.
He was born May 11, 1943, in Mendota, Illinois. He grew up in Illinois, attended Mendota High School, and later attended Northern Illinois College. He worked for many years as a sales representative in the plumbing industry. He enjoyed stained glass work and took part in craft shows. He was also a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Marmion and Suzanne Wagner; his wife, Patricia Marmion; and his brother, Thomas Marmion.
He is survived by his son, James Marmion and wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Shelly Marmion; his grandchildren, AJ Marmion and wife, Kristina, Abby Rochkus and husband, Nicholas, Sawyer Young, and Sullivan Young; his great-grandchildren, Hestia Marmion and Barrett Marmion; his brothers, Joseph Marmion and wife, Janet, Patrick Marmion and wife, Alice, and Michael Marmion and wife, Marcia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
