Daniel A. Halldorson

Daniel A. Halldorson, 63, of Cambridge, passed away November 19, 2015.  A memorial visitation celebrating his life will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at Vandemore Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Geneseo.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials may be made to the Daniel Halldorson Memorial Fund.

Dan was born on April 2, 1952, in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, the son of Daniel and Alice Halldorson.  He was united in marriage to Patricia A. DeBoever on October 14, 1983, in Geneseo, IL.  Dan was a professional golfer and a member of the PGA Tour with a career spanning 30 years and 431 events, including two PGA Tour victories, 27 top 10’s and five runner-up finishes.  In addition, he had seven wins on the Canadian Tour and was a member of seven WGC World Cup Canadian national teams, including two winning teams in 1980 and 1985. He was later deputy director of the Canadian Tour. He was elected to the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

He loved spending time with his family, friends, watching his grandchildren in all their sports and school activities, fishing, watching hockey, playing and teaching golf.  He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Angie (Brian) Valley of Wheaton, IL; son, Mark (Karla) Humphrey of Geneseo, IL; grandchildren, Kalli, Nate, Trey, and Keaton, Malloree, Morgan, Lauren, and Ian; brother, Ron (Linda) Halldorson of Dauphin, Canada; nieces, Heather and Stephanie Halldorson; nephew, Vance Halldorson;  five great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ray Halldorson.
