Caddied for Dan at the first International in Castle Rock Co. A truly humbling man. Wanted to know more about my life and Colorado than his game at the time...

Dear Pat, Angie, Mark and family,

My father, Vic Binkley, from Brandon, was a financial supporter of Dan during his early years on tour. During that time, my parents spent some very special times with Dan in Palm Desert during the Bob Hope Classic. I had the pleasure of meeting Dan, for the very first time, at Oak Island, in September following my round at the course. His kind comments will always be remembered and appreciated. I cannot describe in words how very proud all of Brandon and Manitoba is of Dan Halldorson and what he did for Canadian golf. My thoughts are with you during this very difficult time.

Dan overcame adversity at a very young age and went on in life to become an overachiever. His quiet demeanor masked great inner strength. You must have been so proud of him. It was my pleasure to have known him. My deepest sympathies.

I am so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. Dan and I went to High school together in Brandon. I have so many fond memories of Dan both in and out of school. Although our paths took different directions and we lost touch over the years, I always considered Dan to be a good friend. My deepest sympathy to all the family. Sleep well my friend

Very sorry for your loss. I was a sports reporter, in Winnipeg area, starting in the late 70s and remain a keen golfer. I was amazed to hear of Dan's success on PGA Tour and remember reporting his first win (Pensacola) and all the other highlights (World Cups, etc.) Got to interview him several times in Wpg at the Mb. Open and he was such a nice guy, made time for the media, while playing at such a high level. He gave Manitobans something to cheer about. Regards,

Pat and family ; While we didn't know Dan well, we do know he was a very nice man and gentleman. He seemed to be totally at home in Cambridge and was "just the guy next door", not a well-known golf pro. Our deepest sympathy to you for your loss. We are sure he is in heaven, looking down with pride...God bless his sweet soul.

I first met my good friend as a 15 year old at the Wheat City Golf Club in Brandon. We played hundreds of golf games together. As my house was close to the course he often stayed over so we could get there early. When he began touring he always stayed with my folks at the Palm Springs stop. They really enjoyed hosting him. It was a great pleasure to see him return to Manitoba and to rekindle some really fond memories. Our deepest condolences to Pat and family. Dan was a quiet classy man and I will miss him a lot.

To Pat and the rest of the family, please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss.
Since 1962, as 11and 10 year olds competing in golf together, my life has been so very fortunate to always have had "Danny" as a friend. The success never changed him.
Myself and several generations of his fellow Canadian PGA pro's will miss him, he left his mark on the world of golf and it won't be forgotten.

With utmost heartfelt condolences to the family.

I first remember seeing and meeting Dan, back about 45 years ago, and like most other young aspiring golfers my age, grew up following and admiring his storied career with great admiration. I also had the good fortune to cross paths with Dan many years later, having had the pleasure of working with him for the past 2 golf seasons at Oak Island Resort. It was during this time that both myself and Kathy got to know Dan very well, and struck up a dear friendship that we will both cherish deeply for the rest of our lives. His quiet demeanor and wisdom, as well as his impish childlike humor will undoubtedly be sorely missed around the golf club, as well as at our cabin for many years to come. Rest in peace our dear friend, and thank you for the wonderful memories.

Cheers Dan,

Mike & Kathy

We were stunned to hear of Dan's passing, our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this difficult time. I had some great fun with Dan whether it was playing, caddying or socializing with him. Dan had so much natural ability, as a kid I loved watching his beautiful swing which resulted in massive drives and pinpoint iron shots. We had the chance to visit and have dinner with Dan in Brandon the last two summers, something we'll always cherish. You made Manitoba and Canada proud Dan, I'll miss you my friend.

I cannot even begin to comprehend the magnitude of loss that you must be feeling. Please accept our most heartfelt condolences and our prayers. Dan was loved by so many people far and wide. We first met at the 1975 British Columbia Open which was the start of a friendship that has endured and taken many forms over the past 40 years. I always called Dan my best friend. I knew full well that there were people everywhere who felt the same way. He always made you feel special when you were in his orbit. Ours was a relationship that I will cherish forever, full of memories that I will never forget. To me, he was simply a loving and passionate man and a caring friend. My best friend.
