I'm truly sorry to read about the loss of your loved one. God is a God of comfort and I pray that he will comfort your Family at this difficult time (2Corinthians 1:3,4). In due time God will swallow up death forever (Isaiah 25:8 , 1 Corinthians 15:26). Imagine the time when there's no more sick, pain or death and the earth being restore to a Paradise (Revelation 21:4). May you find comfort in the promises that God has made. Please accept my condolences.

Chris, Talked to you a while back when you called Mom. You would call out of the blue and I’m sure you did that to lots of people. I told my Mom that I wanted to talk to you and we had a great conversation about the old days. A time when guys like Kevin Woodson, Billy Garnet, Kevin Busen, Scott Blackert, Kevin Rounds, the late Mathew Loft and anybody else we could drag together would play ball on the extra lot by your house. If we got enough guys, or brave girls like Kelly Brown, we would move to the “Pump house” lot and play there. You were there with your old bat and new glove and we would sit on the air conditioner and pinch in the aluminum fins (sorry Mr. Heath) while waiting our turn to bat. Always with the radio on. Woody couldn’t go anywhere without a radio either blasting music or the Cubs game. You would always have the latest batting average for everybody on the Cubs roster (and for almost any roster). We wondered what it would take to have the Cubs win the World Series. Glad you got to see the Cubs finally do it. Baseball turned to basketball which turned to football. We would play whenever we could, as often as we could. We talked about sports all the time and you made our group extremely proud when you won the “Swedish Swami” contest in the Dispatch. Our phone conversation ended by me saying I had to go. I know you could have talked a lot longer, but, you obliged me. I was at the Class of ’84 graduation where you got a standing ovation when you got your diploma. I realized then you had a lot more friends than just us “Sandlot” guys. I’ll miss you, and I know I’m not alone in saying that.

We so enjoyed our conversations with Chris around town and at the center. We also loved it when our Mustang carried Chris through the Music Festival Parade! It was such a joy to hear him go through the parade shouting out to all of his friends, which was every five seconds! When we were done with the parade, he said, "Turn around and let's do this all again!" It is such a memory of a person who loved people, life, and Geneseo! We will miss his sense of humor, fun facts, and great smile!

Memories of Chris; Walking down the halls of JD Darnall, greeting EVERYONE he came in contact with...by name (and sometimes a story). I have no idea how he even made it to class most of the time? Chris, we know what an impact you made on everyone's life you touched. You had the gift of making us more loving people. To Chris's family, I am sorry for your loss. May God give you comfort, peace and strength in the days to come in knowing that Chris IS with Jesus and you will see him again one day. Lori, Class of 1983

I can't imagine that it helps soften your grief, but please know that Geneseoans all over the country are feeling sorrow at the loss of Chris. I was a year behind him in school, and though we never had a class together, I remember his enthusiasm about everything, particularly sports. He was always friendly and had a smile for everyone he passed in the halls. He was clearly woven in to the fabric of the community, and leaves a great, gaping hole, not just in the hearts of his family, but of all who ever had the pleasure of meeting him. My deepest condolences to you. Sincerely, Shelley (Regan) Kloba

This is for his parents and siblings. I went to school with Chris only "briefly", from 3rd-8th grade, but had many happy memories of him at Southwest Elementary. His unique gift, even back then, was that when you were with him, you were his friend and the center of the universe for him, and he loved everyone and was in turn loved by all. He always had a great sense of humor throughout everything and could make you laugh; and as I become reacquainted with old classmates from Geneseo in recent years, I delighted to find out he had never changed and was the same Chris I knew from childhood days, helping to keep all of us young through shared memories. I had hoped to see him again at a reunion and discover whether he remembered me or not, but I believe he would have remembered me and greeted me warmly. I am sad at the loss of my old friend from more carefree days, but sadder still for the loss of your son and brother and the entire town will miss one of its favorite sons. Love to all of you from an old Geneseoan who never forgot where he came from, or those who touched his life.

I only know Chris from seeing him at the community center and didn't even know his last name until reading his obituary. I don't know if I have ever been around someone who smiled as much as him. Whether seeing him give it his all with his workouts or walking the street before or after his workout routine there was always a smile and wave from him. He inspired all to have a better day with his kindness.
