Frank Mariman

Frank Mariman, 96, of Moline, formerly of Geneseo, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Geneseo Good Samaritan Village.  A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 19th at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Geneseo.  Father Michael Pakula will celebrate.  Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Atkinson.  Visitation for Frank will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo. A Rosary will be recited at 6:45 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the Frank Mariman Memorial Fund.

Frank was born on February 9, 1919 in Hillsdale, IL, the son of Leopold and Elodie (Genneberghe) Mariman.  He was united in marriage to Lucille Wirth on December 28, 1940, in Geneseo.  She preceded him in death in 2007.  Frank farmed for many years in rural Atkinson and Geneseo.  He also was the owner/operator of Mariman Brothers Corn Shelling & Trucking. 

Frank was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church, the Geneseo Moose Lodge, and the Flemish American Club.  He enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Hannon of Davenport, IA; son, Randy Mariman of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Matthew Hannon of Davenport, IA, and Scott (Amanda) Hannon of Bettendorf, IA; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Zoey.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; his parents; son-in-law, David Hannon; son, Robert Mariman in 1960; three sisters and four brothers.
