Helen F. (Charlet) Frisk

Helen F. Frisk, 89, of Silvis, IL, formerly of rural Osco, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA.  A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 16th at Vandemore Funeral Homes, Geneseo.  Rev. Stacie Fidlar will officiate.  Burial will follow at the National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island.  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service (10-11 am) at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in care of Genesis Health Services Foundation.

Helen was born on June 23, 1926 in Kewanee, IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Ruth (Miller) Charlet.  She graduated from Cambridge High School.  As a WWII  U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps enlistee, she went on to study nursing at Johns Hopkins Hospital of Nursing, graduating in 1947.  She was united in marriage to Richard E. Frisk on May 9, 1948 in Kewanee, IL.  He preceded her in death October 18, 2006.  She was a registered nurse at Kewanee Public Hospital and Hammond-Henry Hospital for many years.

Helen enjoyed quilting, traveling, and reading.  She especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter: Charlet (Alex) Key of Moline, IL; son: Dennis (Cindy) Frisk of Sun Prairie, WI; grandson Curtis (Bridget) Frisk of Davenport, IA; sister: Karen Finney of Metamora, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Pearl and Elaine.
