Lois, having been where you are just over a year ago losing Jer to this same dreadful disease, I want you to know how my heart goes out to you. Having gotten to know Duke this past year showed me what an amazing man he was. His friendship was a gift. You are so very blessed having had his love for so many years. I'm praying that God is holding you up and filling you with the kind of peace that only He can give. Melody Clementz

Dear Lois,

I am so sorry to hear of Duke's passing. I know the last months have been difficult. He is not suffering anymore but you will feel a terrible void from his passing. Remember all the good times you shared. Please know that you have a lot of friends that are here if you need anything.

Sorry to hear about Duke passing. His bark was worse than his bite! He drove for my dad a little. I was probably 10 or so. He could tell some truck driver " stories" back in the "ILLINI BEEF" days. May he rest in peace.

Dear Lois,
I'm so sorry to hear of Duke's passing. I had not known he was ill. The last few days, weeks, months (years?) have to have been very hard on you. But it's never easy, no matter how long you've watched a loved one struggle. Blessings, love and prayers to you.

Trucked a lot of miles with Duke to the East Coast. We used to rip into each other quite a lot, Duke would always call me a GD cheddar head and I always had a few choice words for him. We battled many a blizzard out there and we never stopped til we got to where we were going or the cops kicked us off the road. Trucking thru bad weather is not for the faint of heart, it takes determination and and guts, and faith in God to sustain you
Duke had all those qualities. May the Lord carry Lois and all those who loved and cared for Duke Farber. Soren. Miller
