I remember Joe as a quiet giant of a man. Soft spoken, caring and humble. Someone who would give you the shirt off his back. He was a guy of character. Friendly, honest and steadfast. He embodied the true spirit of Sigma Chi possessing the virtues we all strive for in our life. You fought the good fight Joe.

We were so sad to hear of Joe's passing. He always had a friendly smile and a hello when he saw you. When Jack and I were first married we lived across the street from Bill and Maggie and have always felt close to your family. Jill was the prettiest girl in town and full of personality. Brooke you and Josh reflect the family values your parents instilled in you. Lester and Mable were hard working farmers, and I will always remember Grandma Mabel as the neatly dressed little lady. In one's lifetime, if we are lucky, we will meet and become friends with a few really wonderful people, people who you like from the first moment you meet them and who you continue to like for all the time you have together. Joe was such a friend. What made Joe so likeable was is warm and genuine way, his sense of humor and his kind treatment of others. My life was greatly enriched by having become Joe's friend. I am very fortunate; we all were.

Joe and I were football teammates, fraternity brothers and roommates and best buddies during our years together at Bradley University.
