My mother, Doris Kneen was a friend of Mabel Brown and they spent time at the bridge table together with Helen Bright and many others. They were only 2 weeks apart in age so birthdays were also celebrated. My father-in-law, John Hungerford spent many hours at the Brown home, repairing the lovely staircase, as many other items. Mabel had a lovely presence, a generous nature, and exuded grace and patience. May you and the girls (Mother included) resume your bridge games in the hereafter.

We have enjoyed our visits with Mabel over many years and always appreciated her generous spirit and knowledgeable help. I remember her parents from childhood for their high capabilities and the interesting stories they told at family gatherings. Mabel carried on in the same way and we will all miss her.

When Jeff and I had the opportunity to visit Mabel, I always came away with the feeling that I wish I had more time to spend with her. Mabel was a font of knowledge in a variety of subjects but I especially loved to hear the first-hand accounts of family lore and history. Having a bit of an architectural background, I was keenly interested in her family's brush with Frank Lloyd Wright. She very generously relayed that story to Jeff and I, and I continue to delight in the re-telling of the story to friends, family and other professional acquaintances. God bless and keep you, Mabel! Thank you for the priceless gift of your memories! We will cherish them and your memory always.

A remarkable woman and an inspiration to many, may she rest in peace. I know firsthand of her generosity. She gifted an upright piano to my family over 30 years ago. My father refinished it and it has traveled with me from Illinois to California to Maryland and now finally to Florida. It's a wonderful keepsake that I treasure. Thank you, Miss Brown!

I had the pleasure of working with Mabel on several occasions: first, as a result of her being my mother's (and father's) attorney (Juan and Rosemary Puentes) and, later, in other business dealings. She was always fair and precise, and "sharp as a tack" (as they say). She definitely left her mark on the community of Geneseo, with many years of fine service. She will be missed, for sure. May she rest in peace.
