Mary Louise C. (Husted) Zaborskis

Mary Louise C. Zaborskis, 79, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, at Unity Point - Trinity in Rock Island.  A private family memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3rd at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo. Cremation rites have been accorded.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Society.

Mary Louise was born on December 13, 1935, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Raymond H. and Ruth E. (Bergquist) Husted.  She was united in marriage to Bob (Belasco Joseph) on January 25, 1971, in Brooklyn, NY.  He preceded her in death in 1986.  Mary Louise worked as a surgical ward coordinator at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn NY, and later as the office manager for the thoracic surgery practice of Dr. Peters, at New York University Medical Center in Manhattan, NY. Later in life, she worked for Junior Achievement, in Springfield, MA, and for an investment group in Alpharetta, GA.  She finished her working career as a certified nurse’s aide in Mason City, IA, and Buford, GA.   Mary Louise enjoyed audiobooks, movies, crafting and especially scrapbooking.  She loved the water and sitting by the river.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Maureen) Werner, Stroudsburg, PA, and Craig (Beverly) Werner, Midland, MI;  daughters, Cynthia (Howard) Langley, East Moline, IL, and Susan (Doug) Causemaker, Hampton, IL; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Arita Duneman, Minnetonka, MN; and stepdaughter, Suzanne (Les) Gibler.

She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Bob, and her step-daughter, Christine Gerlach.
