Joyce L. (Adams) Carmaney

Joyce L. Carmaney, 83, of Geneseo, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016, at her home. A memorial visitation celebrating her life will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo. Cremation Rites have been accorded by Vandemore Crematory. Memorials may be made to the Geneseo Humane Society.

Joyce was born on January 27, 1933, in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Erwin and Bess (Lodge) Adams. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1951. She was united in marriage to Harold Carmaney in August 1950 in Little Brown Church in Iowa. He preceded her in death in1983. She worked in the office at the Geneseo Republic for many years and then at the Henry County Clerk/ Recorder's office, from which she retired. Joyce was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a true animal lover, especially her dogs. Joyce was a real caregiver for many of her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Anita) Carmaney of Mokena, IL, and Brian Carmaney of Geneseo, IL; and grandsons, Brad and Eric Carmaney.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
