Francis E. Fleming

Francis E. Fleming, 77, of Independence, MO, formerly of Geneseo, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016, at Monterey Park Rehab and Health Care Center in Independence, MO.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16th at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, Geneseo.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  Visitation will be held one hour prior (9:30-10:30 a.m.) to the service.  Memorials may be made to the Francis Fleming Memorial Fund.

Francis was born on March 11, 1939, in Colona, IL, the son of Edward and Bernadine (Vershaw) Fleming.  He farmed for many years for Duane Dilenbeck in rural Geneseo.  He proudly served with the National Guard.  Francis was united in marriage to Katherine Teaburg.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine; daughter, Connie Borneman; sons, Edward Fleming and Glen Fleming; grandchildren, Patricia Fleming, Duane Fleming, Brandon Borneman, Jeremy Johnson, and Jerri Lowe; and 13 great-grandchildren.
